Jackie Johnson, Owner
Jackie has worked with animals professionally for 12 years. Before founding District Pet Care in 2016, Jackie worked as an Animal Caretaker and Adoption Counselor at the MSPCA, where she cared for thousands of animals each year. She has also worked in the veterinary field both as a Receptionist and Veterinary Technician.
The safety of your pet and home is important to us. That’s why each team member is thoroughly screened and background checked, so you know your home is in good hands. They also receive the same training for CPR/Pet and First Aid certification, making sure your furbaby receives the same level of care no matter who visits them.
Recently retired from the corporate world, Peggy is a life long cat lover who is currently owned by two cats. As a long time resident of the District she has cared for cats and dogs with varying levels of special needs and is always looking to add more cat to her life.
Samantha grew up in California surrounded by animals from llamas, goats and horses to her own pets such as guinea pigs and hermit crabs. She first began dog walking in 2013 and fell in love with it. Now a licensed massage therapist as well, being a daily companion to her dog clients helps her stay grounded and better approach her work with her human clients. When not dog walking for District Pet Care, she’s walking her Bengal kitty and adding to her growing collection of plants.
Francesca recently moved from Michigan to Washington, D.C. to work on Capitol Hill. She has always been an animal lover and had to leave her kitty and puppy back in Michigan with her parents. She is very excited for the opportunity to care for animals here in DC with District Pet Care!
A cat owner her whole life, Catherine has donated food and time to local animal shelters from the Florida Keys to D.C. She lived on her parents small farm and helped to raise cows and a variety of free range chickens. Currently she has one sassy black cat that she is training to take walks on a leash.
Kyle is native to the D.C. area and has owned pets ever since he was a child. He has always had a pet to care for and enjoys spending time many different types of animals. When he’s not spending time with the pets of DC, Kyle works at the local nonprofit, A Wider Circle.
Ryan grew up in Baltimore and moved to the D.C. area to work on Capitol Hill. He is a lifelong lover of pets and grew up with two dogs and a cat. He enjoys spending his weekends fulfilling the desire to spend more time with cats and dogs.
